Description

Extremely powerful rechargeable headlamp for Fenix HP35R SAR helmet offers unrivaled performance up to 4000 lumens (ANSI) and afterglow 450 meters. Excellent performance was achieved by using a powerful LED Cree XHP70 with a neutral shade and a pair of LEDs Luminus SST-20 with a warm light shade and a high color rendering index CRI 94.5 (Color Rendering Index). Warm light penetrates fog, rain and snowfall better, so you can use it especially in bad weather conditions. The headlamp is equipped with a long-range reflector and a pair of smaller reflectors with a wide beam of light. The reflectors can be switched on separately or they can be switched on simultaneously in combined mode. With intuitive control using a rotary and electronic switch, you can handle every situation with clarity.

The HP35R SAR headlamp is intended for helmet use only., for these purposes it is equipped with an elastic strap made of non-flammable and antistatic material. It also has a directly integrated helmet holder with NVG mounting. The package also includes 4 handles for easy attachment of the strap to the helmet. If you want to wear the headlamp without a helmet, then we recommend purchasing the Fenix HP35R version, which has a comfortable textile strap.

It uses a 36 Wh (7.2 V / 5000 mAh) Li-ion battery for power, which is located in a separate case on an adjustable cable. The case can be worn on the back of the neck, placed on a belt, in a pocket or backpack. This increases the comfort of wearing and in winter the batteries are better protected against frost. The battery case is equipped with red light with an output of up to 20 lumens, a charge indicator and USB-C charging connector. The USB-C charging connector also functions as an output, so the battery can also be used as a power bank for charging your mobile phone, GPS navigation and other USB devices.

The headlamp offers a total of 12 power modes. In the lowest mode with 5 lumens, it provides excellent endurance up to 500 hours (i.e. more than 20 days). The body of the headlamp is made of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, ensuring excellent cooling and resistance to damage. This high-performance headlamp with a separate battery is designed specifically for search and rescue operations, caving and work use, but will also be appreciated by ski mountaineers, mushers and enthusiasts of other extreme sports and outdoor activities.

All headlamp parameters (luminous flux, battery operating time, waterproofness, glow and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Using the Fenix HP35R SAR headlamp

The headlamp is turns on and off by the rotary switch on the right side. In the first position, the headlamp is off, turning it to the second position switches it to the high beam mode, turning it to the third position switches it to the wide beam mode, and turning it to the fourth position switches it to a combination of both headlamps. The power modes in each position are cycled by pressing the button on the side of the rotary switch.

Red light on battery case is activated by holding the button on the battery case for approx. 0.5 s. Individual presses then switch between flashing light (5 lumens) and constant light (20 lumens).

Memory for the last set power mode – the headlamp has a memory and always turns on in the last set power mode of the selected reflector, with the exception of the highest modes of the high beam and wide beam, instead it turns on in the second highest mode of the given reflector.

The length of the cable connecting the headlamp to the battery case can be increased using extension cord, which is included in the package.

Battery status indication – pressing the button on the battery case activates battery capacity indicator (four lit diodes 80 – 100 %, three diodes 60 – 80 %, two diodes 40 – 60 %, one diode 20 – 40 %, one flashing diode indicates 20 % of remaining battery capacity).

Charging – lift the rubber cover of the USB-C connector on the battery case and connect it to a computer, a USB mains adapter or a USB car adapter using the included USB-C cable. Alternatively, you can use any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector for charging. The indicator LEDs on the battery case flash during charging, and remain lit when fully charged. Charging a fully discharged battery takes about 2 hours using a USB power source with a power of at least 27 W. If you use a weaker power source, the charging time will be longer.

Activating USB output (power bank function) – connect the device you want to charge. Activation of the USB output is indicated by flashing LEDs on the case.

Intelligent overheating protection – if the temperature of the headlamp rises above 55 °C, it will automatically start to reduce the power until its temperature stabilizes. As soon as the temperature drops below 55 °C, the power will automatically increase again.

Intelligent power reduction – The headlamp has a built-in protection circuit. When the reflector approaches the illuminated object (less than 60 mm) for more than 1 second, it will automatically reduce the power to low mode to prevent damage to the object from strong light and glare from reflected light. When the reflector is far away from the illuminated object, the headlamp will automatically restore the previously used power level. Turning the smart proximity sensor on/off – with the headlamp turned off, press the side button for 6 seconds. The headlamp indicates that the function is turned on with two flashes in low mode. The headlamp indicates that the function is turned off with eight flashes in low mode.

Warning

  • Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty.
  • If the headlamp is flickering, not switching to higher power modes, or not lighting up, it could be for one of the following reasons:
    • The battery is dead - charge it.
    • Make sure the connector on the cable between the headlamp and the battery case is firmly connected.

Warranty

Five-year warranty on the headlamp and 2 years on the battery.
