Fenix HL17R is a multifunctional ultra-light headlamp that will illuminate you with a luminous flux of up to 500 lumens and afterglow 100 meters. Despite the weight only 65 grams hides an integrated 1000mAh a battery that is conveniently charged  USB-C  connector directly on the lamp body. The light source is a modern LED Luminus SST-20 with a cooler light shade and additional colored LEDs. The unique magnetic attachment of the headlamp in the holder allows it to be immediately removed and used as a handheld flashlight. Through supplied clip you can attach it to a backpack strap, pocket or belt. The HL17R offers a total four levels of white light brightness and five atmospheric color modes. Use

Power on/off and mode switching – When the headlamp is unlocked, press and hold the main switch for 0.5 seconds to turn it on/off. The light functions of the selected lighting mode are then switched by briefly pressing the same switch.

Switching between white light and colored lighting – Turn the light ring clockwise to select the lighting mode White light → Colored light.

Lock/Unlock – With the headlamp on, turn the light ring counterclockwise (to the lock position) to lock. Turn the light ring clockwise to unlock the headlamp and enter the previously used power of the currently selected lighting mode.

Memory for the last set power mode – The headlamp has a memory and turns on in the last set power mode of the selected lighting method.

Controlling the headlamp with gestures – When the headlamp is on, press and hold the sensor switch, the headlamp will flash white three times and the gesture sensing function indicator will flash blue, indicating that this function is activated. After activating this function, you can turn the headlamp on/off by waving your hand. When the headlamp is on, press and hold the sensor switch again to deactivate this function. Turning off or locking the headlamp deactivates the gesture sensing function. To use this function, reactivate it after turning on the headlamp. The sensing range is approximately 10 cm in front of the headlamp and may vary slightly depending on the material and color of the object being sensed, the ambient light, the selected light output, and the waving speed. The gesture sensing function uses an infrared sensor. If an object other than your hand moves within the sensing range in front of the headlamp, the headlamp can also be turned on/off.

Charging – Turn off the headlamp and plug the USB-C charging cable into the charging port. The indicator light is red while charging. It turns green when fully charged. The headlamp can be used in all modes except the highest while charging.

Battery charge status indication – Each time the headlamp is turned on or after pressing the button when the headlamp is off, the indicator LED will be activated for three seconds. If the indicator LED is green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. Green flashing means 50-85% capacity. If it is red, it is charged to 25-50%. Red flashing means less than 25% battery capacity remains.

Intelligent overheating protection – When using the headlamp in high power mode, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the headlamp reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher, it will automatically reduce the output by a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, the output will gradually increase again.

Low battery warning – If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp will gradually reduce the brightness to a lower level. When the lowest power is reached, the battery charge indicator will start flashing red to remind you to recharge the battery.

Warning

• Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty.
• Lock the headlamp to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
• When storing, check the headlamp every four months, or recharge it to approximately 50 % for optimal battery life.
• If the headlamp is flashing, not switching to higher power modes, or not lighting up, it could be for one of the following reasons:
  • The battery is low, charge it.
  • The headlamp is locked, unlock it.
