Fenix RCR123A 800 mAh USB-C Li-ion

Fenix ARB-L16-800UP is a rechargeable Li-ion battery of size RCR123A (16340) with kwith a capacity of 800 mAh and its own USB-C charging connector. It can be charged by connecting the cable to USB-C connector (e.g. from a computer or a mobile phone charger), but also in a classic charger and also in rechargeable lamps and headlamps. It is adapted for high discharge current. It is therefore particularly suitable for devices with higher current consumption, e.g. Fenix E16 and E18R lamps. Li-ion technology provides one of the best ratios of stored energy to cell weight. The batteries have no memory effect and self-discharge is minimal.

Battery protection can be divided into two areas. The first area includes electronic circuits that prevent the cell from being overcharged (a situation where there is a risk of explosion in classic li-ion batteries) or, conversely, from being over-discharged (the battery would then not be able to be recharged). In addition, these circuits protect the battery against short circuits or high current consumption, which could damage the battery. If the battery electronics evaluate that the limit values have been reached, it disconnects the cell. The second area is protection against overheating (PTC thermal protection) and a special anti-explosion valve. Unlike other valves used in li-ion batteries, this one, when the gas pressure in the cell exceeds a certain limit, separates the electrodes inside the battery and thus de-facto interrupts the exothermic reaction and releases the excess gas pressure outside the battery. Thanks to the combination of electronic and mechanical (temperature and pressure) protection, Fenix batteries are among the safest li-ion batteries available.

The RCR123 battery is the same size as the disposable lithium CR123A battery, which is why it is often used in lights as a rechargeable alternative to these disposable cells. Check in advance whether your device supports this cell, as it has a higher nominal voltage than a disposable battery.. These batteries can also be used in, for example, Fenix E15 XP-G2, E16, E18R, PD25R, LD15R, PD25R, GL06, GL22, HM50R, HM51R, CL09, RC09, PD22 Ultimate Edition flashlights.

CAUTION - do not use in Fenix E15 (not valid for E15 XP-G2), PD10, PD12, PD20, PD22 (not valid for Ultimate Edition) and HL50 models, there is a risk of damage to the electronics!

Due to the length of 35.5 mm, it may not fit older lamp models!

Charging

The battery can be charged:

• Via USB-C connector: Plug the USB cable into the side USB-C connector, the indicator light on the top of the battery will be red during charging. It will be blue when fully charged. A fully discharged battery will take about 2 hours to charge.
• In a flashlight or headlamp: The battery can also be charged in rechargeable flashlights and headlamps. It can be used as a replacement battery for the HM50R V2.0, HM51R V2.0 headlamps and the E18R, LD15R, GL06, GL22 flashlights.
• In a classic Li-ion battery charger.
