Using the Fenix LD36R flashlight

From the factory, there may be a battery inside the lamp insulating cap. Remove it from the battery before first use.

Power on/off and switching between power and color modes – To turn the light on or off, hold the side button for approximately 0.5 seconds while the lighting mode is selected (W for white light or C for colored). If the rotary selector is in the central locked position, turn the light on by turning it to the symbol of the desired lighting mode (W or C). You can switch the white light power modes (W) at any time during operation by short pressing the button. Holding the button for 1.2 seconds activates the strobe, which you can turn off by pressing the button again and return to the previous white light mode. In colored lighting mode (C), you can change the colors cyclically by short pressing the button: red - orange - pink - blue - purple - green. Holding the button for a long time activates a smooth color change - release the button after reaching the desired shade. A subsequent short press switches back to the originally selected color from the 6 predefined ones.

Memory for the last set mode – The lamp always turns on in the last selected mode, except for strobe and continuous color change.

Lock/Unlock – To prevent the lamp from being switched on accidentally, e.g. in luggage, press the button twice quickly (the lamp must be switched off), the lamp will then flash and be locked. To unlock, press the button twice quickly again. You can also lock the lamp with the rotary selector by moving it to the middle position. Both locks can be combined and the lamp can be locked first with the button and then with the rotary selector. Unwanted switching on can also be prevented by loosening the lamp head.

Battery replacement – Unscrew the lamp head and insert the battery with the positive pole facing the head. Then tighten the lamp head again completely.

Charging – Flip open the dust cap and plug the USB-C charging cable into the charging port of the flashlight. After charging is complete, seal the dust cap again. The normal charging time for the included ARB-L21-6000 battery is 3.5 hours with a 5 V/2.5 A USB power supply. The indicator lights up red during charging. As soon as the battery is fully charged, the green indicator lights up. While charging, the flashlight can be used in any mode except strobe and continuous color change, but depending on the battery charge level, not all modes may be available and the total charging time will be extended. 

Battery charge status indication – When the light is off, press the button briefly for three seconds to activate the battery charge level indicator. Green indicates sufficient charge (100% – 85%), green flashing (85% – 50%), solid red (50% – 25%) and flashing red indicates a critically discharged battery (25% – 1%). If the battery is discharged, the light will gradually automatically switch to lower power modes, in the lowest mode the battery charge indicator will flash red to indicate that the battery needs to be recharged or replaced. It only works with original batteries.

Intelligent overheating protection – When the lamp is used at high power levels for a long time, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the lamp reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher, it automatically reduces the output by a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, the output gradually increases again.

Low battery warning – If the battery voltage drops below 3.0V, the flashlight will automatically switch to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest power mode. When the lowest power is reached, the battery charge status icon on the OLED display will start flashing. In this case, recharge the flashlight as soon as possible or replace the battery with a charged one. 

Warning

• Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the lamp head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• Use only the above-mentioned high-current rechargeable Li-ion 21700 batteries.
• If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after a long period of use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent erosion of the rubber. Following these rules will ensure that the lamp is properly protected against water.
• If the light does not switch to higher power modes, flashes or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:
  • The battery is almost empty - recharge it.
  • The contacts inside the lamp are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
  • The back of the lamp is loose - tighten it.
