Rechargeable USB AA battery Fenix ARB-L14-2200U

Rechargeable battery Fenix ARB-L14-2200U serves as a replacement for classic AA batteries. Inside is a Li-ion cell, which is equipped with control electronics, which first 70-80% capacity holds fixed output voltage 1.5 V and then holds constant 1.2 V until discharged. The battery is therefore particularly suitable for devices that are sensitive to voltage levels and, for example, do not work properly with rechargeable NiMH batteries, or only for a short time. The battery capacity is 2200mAh (3.3 Wh which corresponds to a capacity of 2750 mAh with NiMH).

Battery only charges via the built-in USB-C connector, so it can be charged, for example, from a computer, a mobile phone charger, a power bank or other USB source. It cannot be charged in a classic charger!

The battery also has built-in protection against deep discharge and short circuit (maximum continuous discharge current is approx. 3 A). The accumulator is therefore suitable for example for cameras, navigation systems, laboratory instruments and other devices. The battery is also compatible with all Fenix headlamps and flashlights using AA batteries. For example, the Fenix E12, Fenix E20, Fenix LD12R, Fenix LD22, Fenix HM23, Fenix HP16R models.

When using this battery, it is necessary to take into account that it is not possible to reliably determine the remaining capacity based on the output voltage. During the first 70-80%, the voltage is still a constant 1.5 V and only then does it drop to 1.2 V under load. It depends on how the devices evaluate the voltage drop from 1.5 V to 1.2 V when the remaining battery capacity drops to 20-30%. When the battery is completely discharged, its voltage drops suddenly from 1.2 V to 0 V.

Charging via USB-C connector

Plug the USB cable into the side USB-C connector, the indicator light on the top of the battery will glow red while charging. It will glow blue when fully charged.
